Charterhouse Nuclear History Conferences

The Charterhouse Nuclear History conferences have been running for many years, and are organised under the auspices of King’s College, London, and Southampton University.
Originally concentrating on UK nuclear themes, the conferences have been evolving towards a more international flavour, with delegates from France, Germany, Japan, USA and other countries being represented in recent years.
The format of the conferences focusses on oral history, and both speakers and delegates are invited. Conference papers are not normally published. The attendees cover a large spectrum of interests with nuclear history as a common denominator. Historians, academics, ex-Service men and women, nuclear energy and weapons engineers, artists, anti-nuclear campaigners and independent researchers make up a typical Charterhouse crowd.
